TUPPER LAKE — A Tupper Lake woman was charged with three felonies Friday.
Angela Roberts, 25, was arrested on three warrants: first-degree identify theft, third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession stolen property, Tupper Lake police said.
Roberts allegedly stole a credit card and used it at a store in Tupper Lake in June 2013, police said.
She was arraigned in Village Court and was sent to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
SARANAC LAKE — A Tupper Lake man was charged with drunken driving Thursday.
John K. Jock, 49, was stopped for speeding on Broadway Street in the Village of Saranac Lake and was found to be intoxicated, the Saranac Lake Police Department said in a news release.
Jock was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and felony driving with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, police said.
He was released to a third party and is due in court at a later date, police said.
PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged Tuesday with promoting prison contraband.
Benjamin Vanvalkenbury, 20, Plattsburgh was arrested for possessing prohibited items while incarcerated at the Clinton County Jail, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Vanvalkenbury was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, a felony, the Sheriff’s Department said.
He was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and his bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
PLATTSBURGH — A Millterton, N.Y. man was charged with burglary on Dec. 20, 2013.
Carlos A. Ramirez-Nunez, 18, a former Clinton Community College student, unlawfully entered two dorm rooms there and stole X-Box game console and controllers and a laptop computer, State Police said.
The alleged crime happened after he had stopped taking classes at the school, police said.
Ramirez-Nunez was arraigned in Peru Town Court and posted $1,000 cash bail, police said.
PLATTSBURGH — Two Plattsburgh men were charged Dec. 11, 2013 for allegedly stealing various items from Wal-Mart.
Bailey J. Burger, 26, and Jason E. Baldwin, 22, allegedly stole the following items from Wal-Mart in Plattsburgh: a Shark Navigator vacuum, a car dual sub woofer, a Stanley 30-amp jump starter, a Kitchen Aid mixer, eleven video games, seven Skylander kids toys, four video game controllers, 18 DVDs, childrens’ clothes and various vehicle parts, State Police said.
The items are valued at $1,719.27, police said.
Burger and Baldwin were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and fifth-degree conspiracy, police said.
Burger was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, after he was found with 8.7 ounces of marijuana, police said.
Baldwin and Burger were arraigned in Peru Town Court and were sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 each, police said.
MALONE — Those involved in a two-car head-on accident Friday suffered minor injuries, Malone-based State Police said.
Richard L. Dafoe, 37, of Russell, N.Y. was driving a 2001 Subaru north on Route 51 when his vehicle crossed over the center line and and struck a 2004 Pontiac driven by Michelle L. Grimshaw, 33, of Malone, who was traveling south, State Police said in a news release.
The crash happened near the intersection of Route 51 and Route 37 in Malone, police said.
Two boys aged 9 and 10 were passengers in Grimshaw’s vehicle, police said.
Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said police could not release the names of the passengers in Grimshaw’s vehicle because of their age.
Police responded to the accident at about 6:45 a.m., police said.
Occupants of both cars were taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for treatment, police said.
Dafoe was ticketed for unsafe speed and no seat belt.
PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was injured in a one-car accident Thursday.
Marshall R. LaDuke, 81, lost control of his 2001 Ford Taurus as he was rounding a corner on Route 9 in Plattsburgh, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
LaDuke’s sedan exited the roadway and struck a utility police, the Sheriff’s Department said.
He was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh and treated fro injuries on the left side of his body, police said.
LaDuke was cited for speed unreasonable and prudent for road conditions.
