Laceys smack Willsboro

WILLSBORO -- Hope Lacey accounted for a home run and double as Crown Point defeated Willsboro, 8-4, in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference girls' softball Friday.
Trisha Lacey added a triple and two RBI, Paige Dolback a triple and RBI, Ashley Zapolski a single, triple and RBI, and Jordan McGinness two hits for the Panthers (8-1).
Winning pitcher Jonalee Ross went the distance for the Panthers with nine strikeouts and two walks.
Codia Holland led the Warriors with two hits and a RBI, while Ashley Sherman and Jade Sayward both added a hit and RBI. Randi Swires went the route in taking the pitching loss for Willsboro (4-2).

SCHROON LAKE -- Sinead Cooper had three hits and three RBI to lead the Eagles past the Wildcats.
Lindsey Seymour earned the pitching win.
Chazy opened a 16-0 lead in the first inning and led 24-3 after three. But Shcroon Lake had a couple big innings of its own, scoring 10 in the fifth and nine in the seventh.
Brigid Daul hit a double and two singles for the Eagles, and Victoria Reynolds also had three hits.
Shcroon Lake's Ashley Whitty belted three home runs and totaled four RBI. Savannah Clark suffered the setback.

KEENE VALLEY -- Summer Reed had two hits and turned in an excellent defensive performance as the Beavers beat the Lions.
Carrie Shackett struck out eight with no walks. Michelle Sardella and Louisa Sardella each added two hits for Keene (6-2).
Riley Diemand suffered the loss for Elizabethtown-Lewis (2-4).

WESTPORT -- Ashley Eldridge had a couple of two-run singles in the second game as Indian Lake/Long Lake took two MVAC crossover games from the host Eagles.
Maggie Evatt was the winning pitcher in the first five-inning contest as she allowed four hits, struck out six and walked five. Evatt also helped her cause at the plate with two hits, including a double.
Alicia Hathaway rapped a two-run single for Westport.
Allison Eldridge then went the distance for the pitching win in Game 2 as she surrendered four hits.
Nancy Armitage drove in two runs and Molly Rascoe contributed a double for the Eagles.

WESTPORT -- Jordan Wallace, Jeff Reynolds, and Alex Smith all hit home runs as Indian Lake/Long Lake rolled to a MVAC crossover win.
Wallace had a two-run home run, two singles and three RBI on the day. Reynolds went 5-for-6 with five RBI, two doubles and a two-run homer. Smith was 3-for-4 with three RBI, a double and a three-run homer.
Tom King went 4-for-4, Andy Snide 3-for-6, and Cody Cummins had two hits and Ryan Leddick two doubles for the Orange.
Reynolds pitched six strong innings for the win, striking out eight and walking three
Nick Robare hit a two-run home run for the Eagles and Michael Tyler had an RBI single.
