TO THE EDITOR: The Essex County Democratic Committee is proud to endorse a number of highly qualified Democrats in this year’s general election.
Supervisors who are seeking re-election and are very deserving of another term are Sue Montgomery Corey of Minerva, Margaret Bartley of Elizabethtown, Dan Connell of Westport, Ed Hatch of Willsboro and Randall Douglas of Jay.
While transparency is part of the foundation of the Democratic Committee, these candidates have demonstrated dedication and excellent planning skills for their constituents and Essex County residents through the work they do.
We have endorsed candidates who have sought our support in local races, and we are pleased to endorse Evelyn Hatch of Elizabethtown for Town Council, who is seeking a second full term.
We are also proud to endorse Reginald Bedell of Willsboro, who is seeking a term as town justice. Reginald is an attorney who has practiced law for more than 20 years and was a former assistant public defender. He has years of experience practicing in local justice courts and is a perfect fit for the position he is seeking.
Our endorsement of Judge Mark Powers of Schenectady for Supreme Court Justice is founded upon his 11 years experience in Family and Supreme Court and serving as a full-time acting State Supreme Court justice since 2004. We are proud to support Judge Powers, who finds the position of Supreme Court justice to be more than just a job but rather a sacred trust between the people and those who serve in the position.
There are many good candidates seeking office in Essex County, and it is the duty of all registered voters to vote.
We wish all our Democratic candidates well and look forward to the results of this year’s election.
