MOOERS — Douglas E. Duprey, 79, of Mooers, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 15, 1930, in Sciota, the son of Leo and Anna (Corrow) Duprey.
He was a self employed farmer. Douglas loved to drive his pickup truck, enjoyed working in his garden, cutting firewood and he loved his animals. Douglas was a big hearted man who loved to help people. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and everyone that knew him. He was a great father and he loved the Lord.
Douglas was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Anna (Corrow) Duprey; his wife, Theresa (LaPan) Duprey; one sister, Mary Deso; and four brothers, Kenneth Duprey, Russell Duprey, Marshall Duprey and Harold Duprey.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Duprey of Mooers; four daughters, Ann Duprey and her companion Warren Inman of Mooers, Linda Ashline and her husband John of Saranac, Lisa Babbie and her husband Steve of Fayetteville, Ga., Betty Bedard and her husband Andre of Champlain; five sisters, Helen Dymowsk of Lancaster, Calif., Lillian Duprey of Jay, Catherine Dupee of Champlain, Angeline Houle of Rouses Point and Florence Hansen of Champlain. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Minnick Roberts, Roger Duprey, Linda Parson, Eugene Carron, Jason Babbie, Melissa Babbie, Andre Bedard and Brandon Bedard; as well as ten great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis of France Church in Sciota. The family would like to thank the CVPH Medical Center staff on the 5th floor and Hospice of the North Country for all of the excellent care and support.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Ross Funeral Home, 2586 Route 11, Mooers.
