George Boulrice

ALTONA — George Boulrice, 99, of Miner Farm Road, Altona, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born on July 11, 1910, in Mooers Forks, N.Y., the son of Alec and Flora (Charland) Boulrice.

George worked for Republic Steel at the Lyon Mountain Mine before becoming a union carpenter for 62 years and was a member of the local 1042. He enjoyed making furniture for his children and grandchildren and ice fishing.

George was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Theresa (Manor) Boulrice; four brothers, Richard, Clifford, Ovelida, Ernest; and a sister, Elizabeth.

He is survived by two daughters, Joan Roberts and her husband, Richard of Dannemora, N.Y., and Sandra Wood of Illinois; and two sons, Bruce Boulrice and his wife, Judy of Arizona, and Dale Boulrice and his wife, Joanne of Ellenburg Depot, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, Rick, Todd, Craig, Brian, Jeanne, Tara, Marcy, Brad, Jared, Jessica and Justin; 14 great-grandchildren, Craig, Nicole, Shannon, Amy, Cecilia, Paige, Adam, Zade, Darian, Ellery, Wesley, Colette, Stacey and Matt; a great-great-grandson, Antone; a sister-in-law, Marie Boulrice; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Church in Altona, N.Y. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Memorial Mausoleum.

Donations in George's memory may be made to the Altona Volunteer Fire Department.
