PLATTSBURGH — Robert Patinka, 78, of the Irish Settlement Road, Plattsburgh, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.

Robert was born in Johnson City, N.Y., Nov. 6, 1930, the son of Paul and Susan (Mereck) Patinka.

He was an Internet guru, who thoroughly enjoyed scouring eBay for a good deal. He was also an avid collector of all things. He led an active life, which included bicycling with his grandchildren; and he was a spirited mall walker. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew him.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Ann (Ashe); and beloved dog, Molly; children, Robert, Patrick, Debra and her husband, Roland Voyer; grandchildren, Candice and her husband, William Eckler, Robert and his fiancée, Cynthia Decker, Brittany and her companion, Christopher Roberts; brothers, Norman and his wife, Dorothy, and Phillip and his wife, Janie; sisters, Olga Sevic, Marie and her husband, Fred Vonholzen, Sandra and her husband, Jerry Schaffer, and Pauline and her husband, Walter Arnold.
