In fulfillment of that dream, he was active in the North Elba Republican Committee, serving as its Chairman on several occasions, and he served as Chairman of the Board of Assessors for the Town of North Elba for over 35 years. He is also survived by two nephews, Gary Daby (and his wife Emily) of Bloomingdale and Fran Daby (and his wife Julia) of Lake Placid; two great nephews, Eben Daby of Lake Placid and Gary Daby III of Bloomingdale; and a great niece, Annabelle Corwin Gray of Lake Placid. He was predeceased by his mother, father and just last month his beloved brother, Gary Daby.

There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Adirondack Community Church, Lake Placid, with Pastor John Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends at at 10:30 a.m at the church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The M.B. Clark Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to North Country Life Flight, High Peaks Hospice and St. Peter's Hospital Foundation "Becky's House", 319 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, New York 12214-8047. The family also thanks Father O'Reilly for all of his prayers over the years.
