HARKNESS — Robert J. "Bobby" Arnold, 83, of Hallock Hill Road, Peru, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Harkness, son of H. Ray and Laverne (Dillon) Arnold. Bobby grew up, and lived his entire life, in Harkness. As a youth, he enjoyed watching local baseball. He would follow the teams, and miss very few games.
Prior to retiring, Bobby was employed by Clinton County as a machine operator at the landfill in AuSable Forks.
He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting. Both locally and down-state, he was always eager to enjoy his time in the wilderness. He was a lifetime member of Keeseville Elks Lodge #2072.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ernie Bedard of Peru; nephew, Bryan and his wife Paula (Licourt) Bedard; two great-nieces, Chelsea and her husband Brandon Moran, and Catitlyn Bedard; two great-great-nieces, Ariana and Adalyn Moran; special longtime friends, James Allen, Kenneth Banker, Ronald Banker, and Elmer Duprey; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; infant niece, Deborah Bedard; and nephew, Randy Bedard.
At Bobby's request there will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Harkness United Methodist Church with Rev. Edie A. Poland, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Harkness Cemetery.
