---- — RARITAN, N.J. — Alfred E. Lattrell "Skip", 71, died Sept. 25, 2013, at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, surrounded by those he loved. He was born April 13, 1942, in Keeseville, N.Y., to his dear parents, William V. and Catherine E. Lavalette Lattrell.

Skip was a Machinist for Crestline in Raritan. He enjoyed working with wood and building things, fishing, vacationing in Jamaica, and spending time with his family. Skip was a kind, caring, generous person, who enjoyed joking around with everyone, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Skip is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret M. Gray Lattrell of 48 years; his loving children, Tim Lattrell of Atlanta, Ga., Michael (Sherry) Lattrell of Masontown, W.V., Michele (Carl) Rawles of Hillsborough, N.J.; three dear sisters, Janice (John) Cooley of Wilmington, N.C., Loretta Rose of Wilmington, N.C., Jill (Richard) Wood of Keeseville, N.Y.; five wonderful grandchildren, Kevin, Heather, Colton, Coty, Erin (who was the light of his life and will always be "Papa's" baby girl); two great-grandchildren; four dear sisters-in-law, Maureen, Julie, Ann, and Joanne Lattrell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 1953; his mother in 2004; and his four brothers, Edwin "Bucky" in 1990, John "Jack" in 2000, William in 2012, and Robert "Bobby" in 2013.

Viewing will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908-725-1887). A religious service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Raritan Police Department, 20 First Street, Raritan, NJ 08869 or the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, 75 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12944.
