---- — ROCHESTER — Geraldine Kistner Finnegan, died peacefully surrounded by family on Aug. 13, one day after her 96th birthday.

She was predeceased by Lawrence Kistner and Frank Finnegan; and son-in-law, William Alvut.

She is survived by her sister, Marie Jabaut McGrath; her three children, Sue Clifford Alvut, Stephen Kistner (Ginny) and Martha O'Neil (Pat); two nieces and a nephew; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gerry graduated from Plattsburgh State and taught 35 years in the Plattsburgh School District.

She enjoyed retirement in both Plattsburgh and Dunedin, Fla. She was a worldwide traveler, an avid gardener, a whiz at New York Times crossword puzzles and a master in the art of knitting.

Gerry's family is grateful for the compassionate care she received from the staff of Cherry Ridge and the Lindsay Unit of the Friendly Home in Rochester over the past seven years.

A Memorial Service will be held in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
