PLATTSBURGH — Clark J. Liberty, 62, of Military Turnpike in Plattsburgh, N.Y., died on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 14, 1951, the son of Joseph and Phyllis (Graves) Liberty.
Clark was a truck driver for many years in the 1970's. He then went on to work as a Corrections Officer for the New York State Dept. of Corrections at Camp Gabriel in 1985. Clark married Susan Breyette on July 15, 1991, in Peru, N.Y. He enjoyed collecting silver, gardening, camping and fishing.
Clark was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Phyllis Liberty; and his mother-in-law, Marion Breyette. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan Liberty of Plattsburgh; three children, Vanessa Davies and her husband Matthew, Andrew Breyette and his wife Tricia, Brent Breyette and his wife Diana, all of Plattsburgh; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Diane LaBombard of Plattsburgh, Sherry Rieblein and her husband Christopher, John Breyette of Morrisonville, Kimberly Gumlaw of Plattsburgh, Michael Gumlaw and his wife Shannon Gumlaw of Marion, S.C., Christina Blier and her husband Paul of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Matthew, Ayden, Candice, Riley, Katrina and Camryn; three sisters, Mona Liberty of Plattsburgh, Kathy Collins and her husband Michael Mickey of Peru and Julie Liberty of Corinth, N.Y.; a brother Paul Liberty of Malone, a special nephew, Isaak Gumlaw; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service followed at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18, at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
