Pauline J. Gooley

CHAMPLAIN — Pauline J. Gooley, 78, of 92 Perry Mills Road, Champlain, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born Jan. 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Napoleon "Paul" and Catherine "Ida" (Besaw) Couture.

Pauline was originally from Plattsburgh and attended schools in that area. She married Gerald R. Gooley of Champlain, June 7, 1952, and the couple resided in Champlain where they raised their family.

Pauline was a wonderfully caring individual who always had a warm smile and comforting words for everyone she knew. Her children were her pride and joy and were always put before all else. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose greatest joy was to spend time with her family, whom she adored. She enjoyed cooking and helping others, always placing everyone else's needs before her own. Pauline had a huge heart. She will always be remembered for her loving demeanor and her beautiful smile. She will be sadly missed by all of those whose lives she's touched.

Her loving family includes her children, Susan Boas and long-time companion Edwin Marrero of Springfield, Mass., Michael Gooley and wife Ellen of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Denise Parish and husband Bradley of Plattsburgh. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and her siblings, Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Gerald R. Gooley on July 4, 1999, and by her son, Gerald P. Gooley on Jan. 23, 2013.

A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm St., Champlain, NY 12919. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church St., Champlain, NY. Interment will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Oak St., Champlain.
