PLATTSBURGH — Leon B. "Jack" Hendrie, 58, of the Brown Road, Plattsburgh, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Plattsburgh, Dec. 28, 1954. Jack worked at Airport Lumber for several years.
Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseshoes, camping, berry picking, his pets, riding his lawn mower, smoking and having a good time with his friends and family. Jack was a volunteer caretaker at Treadwells Mills Cemetery. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
Survivors include his companion, Tonia Senecal of Plattsburgh; four brothers, Butch Hendrie and his wife Martha of Plattsburgh, Anthony Howard and his wife Cindy of West Chazy, Timmy Howard and his wife Tina of Plattsburgh, Terry Provost and companion Sherry of Plattsburgh; a sister, Minnie Kennedy and her husband Bobby of West Chazy; step-father, James LeClaire of Plattsburgh; three step-siblings, Bonnie, Jay, and Paul; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special friends, Timothy Lamora, Ronald Blake, and Bobby Bouvia.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Clara Hendrie; mother, Edna M. Hendrie LeClaire, July 24, 2013; and a nephew, Colby Baker.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A prayer service will follow at 3 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Treadwells Mills Cemetery, Brown Road, Plattsburgh.
