FERNDALE, MD. — Theresa H. (Bernard) Fiore, 94, of Ferndale, Md., and formerly of Plattsburgh, died May 18, 2013 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
She was born in Plattsburgh on July 30, 1918, the daughter of Leo and Florence (Maple) Bernard, graduating from St. Peter's High School in 1936. She was married in 1938 to Saverio A. Fiore until his death in 2010. They traveled the country with the U.S. Army settling in Ferndale, Md. in 1947, with the U.S. Army Field Band.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Winifred Soucy; and brother, Joseph Bernard.
She is survived by her brother, Lucian (Philomina) Bernard of Plattsburgh, N.Y., daughter, Virginia (Jack) Stephan of Pasadena, Md.; son, Joseph (Linda) Fiore of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Susan (James) Berros of Chattanooga, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was a devout Catholic, belonging to St Phillip Neri Parish in Linthicum, Md.
Theresa enjoyed many activities and crafts, a gifted sewer along with enjoying many types of handwork, and cooking, she also was involved in Scouting with her children.
She was a charter member of the Ferndale Community Club where she enjoyed many of their activities, especially bingo.
Theresa opened Martin Spalding High School cafeteria in Glen Burnie, Md., overseeing it for many years.
Funeral services will be held at Singleton Funeral Home in Glen Burnie, Md., viewing on Friday May 24th, funeral on Saturday May, 25th, with interment in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington Va. at a later date. Mr. Fiore was a veteran of WWII and is interned in the Arlington National Cemetery.
