---- — PERU — Steve J. Micanko Jr., 72, of the Mannix Road in Peru, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Trenton, N.J. on July 10, 1940, son of the late Stephen and Helen (Rusnak) Micanko.

Steve served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He worked for the Clinton County Highway Department for several years before retiring from CommutAir in Plattsburgh.

Steve is survived by one son, Michael S. Micanko Sr. of Plattsburgh; four sisters, Theresa Gardner and her husband, James of Hamilton, N.J., Mary Fox and her husband, Harold of Melbourne, Fla., Frances Powell and her husband, Andrew of Jacksonville, Fla., Suzanna Kohmann and her husband, David of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Michael Micanko Jr., Julie Micanko, Steven Micanko. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and special friend, Cristi Casey. Steve is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Helen Ludt.
