John J. McKenna III

— PLATTSBURGH - Mr. John J. McKenna III, 68, of Macomb Street, Plattsburgh, N.Y., died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. on Jan. 3, 1945, the son of John J. and Eleanor (DeChimony) McKenna Jr. John was a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J. He attended Harvard and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a master's degree in Architecture. He was employed at John McKenna and Associates. John enjoyed collecting antiques, playing piano, traveling and vacationing in Naples, Fla. He was predeceased by his parents.

John is survived by his partner, Ronald Peltier of Plattsburgh; three brothers, James McKenna Sr. and his wife Donna of Jackson, N.J., Joseph McKenna and his wife Jayne of Asbury, N.J., Jerry McKenna and his wife Sandra of Allentown, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. John's Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Chazy, N.Y.
