CHAZY LAKE — Jerome (Jerry) (Marty) Taylor, 59, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at the CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Jerome was born June 3, 1954 in Plattsburgh, to Jerome and Harriet Taylor.
He graduated from Beekmantown Central. After Graduating, he served the State of NY at Clinton Correctional Facility. He retired in 2010 after serving 33 years. With the assistance of his wife and his daughter, he also ran the Taylor Mini Farm from 1992 to the present.
Jerry enjoyed cooking for the family and his old lady soup list, giving gardening advice, sitting in a tree stand and fishing with his wife.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 28 years, Donna (Dubrey) Taylor; daughter, Heather Taylor of Cocoa, Fla.; mother, Harriet Taylor of West Chazy, N.Y.; brother, Eric and Lynn Taylor of Dayton, Ohio; brother, Mike and Karen Taylor of West Chazy, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Athelie and Walt Lashway of Plattsburgh, Marie and Clarence Trudeau of Morrisonville, Olive and Howard Brelia of Keeseville, Elizabeth Bashaw of Albany, Joyce and Sam Surace of Watertown, Margaret and Tom Schmidt of Kingston, Mae and Jim Guay of Altona, Susan and Lee Winnie of Cooperstown, and Mary Jane Dubray of Chazy Lake; brother-in-law, Stephen and Jane Dubrey of Chazy Lake; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his father, Jerome Taylor.
There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora, N.Y.
