PLATTSBURGH — Mr. Wendell G. Spoor, 71, of Hickory St., Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Keene, N.Y., on Jan. 3, 1943, the son of Gilbert and Evelyn (Ashe) Spoor.
Wendell was employed at Arpak Plastics and later for Bilt Rite Furniture for several years and most recently as supply coordinator for Walmart. He enjoyed gardening and home repair projects.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Evelyn Spoor; two sisters, Norma Favreau and June Taylor; and a brother, Richard Spoor.
He is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Betty A. (Parrott) Spoor of Plattsburgh; a son, Todd Spoor and his wife JoAnne of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Melissa Brown and her companion Cyrus Myers of Plattsburgh; two grandsons, Randy Paul Brown and his wife Jordon of Plattsburgh, Andrew Brown of Plattsburgh; two granddaughters, Candace Brown of Plattsburgh, Shayla Spoor of Peru; two brothers, Curtis Spoor of Plattsburgh, Darrell Spoor and his wife Fannie of Mooers; four sisters, Fayola Smith of Plattsburgh, Betty Blake and her husband Roger of West Chazy, Lenora Perkins and her husband Chester of Roanoke, Ind., Wilma Guillily and her husband Anthony of West Chazy; a sister-in-law, Carol Spoor of West Chazy; a brother-in-law, Joseph Favreau of West Chazy; brothers in-law and sisters in-law, Michael and Penny Parrott of Fla., Donald and Linda Parrott of West Chazy, Brenda and Edward Garrand of Plattsburgh, Shirley Hebert of Schenectady, Charles and Cathy Parrott of Schuyler Falls, Tom and Barbara Parrott of West Chazy; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lisa Favreau officiating. Interment will be later in the year at Ingraham Cemetery.
