PLATTSBURGH — Mrs. Doris M. Mooney, 85, of Battery Street in Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at her home. She was born in Ellenburg, N.Y. on August 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Mina (Boadway)
Doris was employed at Georgia Pacific for 30 years as a machine operator. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Margaret and Jim Lester of Constable, Larry and Chris Morrison of Plattsburgh, Mary and Mike Roy of Garner, N.C., Robin Morrison of Sciota; her siblings and their spouses, Lester Trombley of Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Trombley of N.C., Mr. and Mrs. Lenny Trombley of Malone; and several grandchildren including April and Ginger Morrison whom she raised as her children, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Morrison; her second, Ross Mooney Sr.; a daughter, Susan Durand; her step-mother, Della Trombley; a brother and two sisters, Frances Tourville, Fr. Joseph Trombley, and Alba Joan Roberts.
Calling hours will be held on from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at St. Peter's Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
