PLATTSBURGH — Thomas W. DeSimone of 26 Glen Drive, Plattsburgh, NY died peacefully at home on Jan. 7, 2014 at the age of 82. He was born in Port Henry, N.Y. on March 27, 1931.
Except for his military service he lived his entire life in Upstate N.Y. Thomas served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Korea during the Korean conflict in 1951-1952. He married Barbara Brault in June 1956. Tom began his professional career as a bank teller in Albany and moved north with his family in 1958 where he began his career at Keeseville National Bank. He retired from KNB as an Assistant Vice President in 1989 after serving as Branch Manager at each of the four branches. During retirement he volunteered for many years at CVPH Blood Donor Center and as a member and officer of "Mended Hearts".
He is predeceased by his parents, Stefano DeSimone and Maria Teresa (DiMarco) DeSimone; and his eight siblings, Argentina, Antonio, Yolanda, George, John, Alfred, Lillian and Rena.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Dolores (Brault) DeSimone; his son, Dr. Jeffrey DeSimone, daughter-in-law Dottie Forster DeSimone of Syracuse, N.Y. and their four sons, Anthony, Stephen, Gregory, and Derrick.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home. Entombment will be at St. Peter's Columbarium.
