---- — PLATTSBURGH — Thomas W. Fortin, 65, of Terrace West, Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away on Monday April 22, 2013 at his home. He was born in Burlington, Vt., on Dec. 12, 1947 the son of William and Theresa (Prince) Fortin.
Tom graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1965. He worked at the Press Republican as a photographer, SEARS and most recently Choice Furniture in Plattsburgh. Tom enjoyed golfing, woodworking, photography, fishing and kayaking.
He was predeceased by his father, William Fortin; a son, David; and a brother-in-law, David Hart. Tom is survived by his mother, Theresa Fortin of Plattsburgh; three children, John E. Fortin and his wife Maria of N.C., Denise C. Fortin of Vt., and Eric T. Fortin and his wife Michelle of Morrisonville; six grandchildren, Danielle, Amy, Aaron, Jonathan, Mason and Christina; two great-grandchildren, Nikolus and Joel; his siblings, Raymond J. Fortin of Plattsburgh and Cheryl J. Hart of Vt.; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. You will always be loved and missed by your friends and family.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 26, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday April 27, at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
