Sarah E. Rabideau

MOOERS — Sarah E. Rabideau, 94 formerly of Route 11, Mooers, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Plattsburgh. She was born in Mooers Forks, Jan. 24, 1919, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Bosley) Pennell. She grew up in Mooers Forks and attended school in Mooers Forks. She met and married Homer N. Rabideau and they raised their family in Ellenburg Depot and later Mooers. Homer died in the mid 70s.

Sarah was a loving homemaker and worked for many years at Georgia Pacific prior to retiring in the 1980s. She was a member of the American Legion Post 20 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, visiting the mall, but her true love was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Evelyn Defayette of West Chazy, Dorthy Coupal and her husband Rene of Mooers, Janet Brooks and her husband Larry of Mooers, and Leon Rabideau and wife Susan of Mooers; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her parents; one grandson, Randy Coupal; and siblings, Howard, Robert, Homer, and Victor.

Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 P.M. Friday, April 26 at St. Anns Church in Mooers Forks with Rev. Gerald A. Cerank, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
