CHAZY — Dorothy LaDue, 96, formerly of Graves Street, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.
She was born in Chazy, N.Y., on May 16, 1917, the daughter of George Parrott Sr. and the former Eliza Akey.
Dorothy married James LaDue Sr. in 1933, at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. James passed away in Jan. 28, 1999.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed camping, knitting, sewing, quilting and cooking.
Dorothy retired Chazy Central School in 1977, after 15 years of service, working as the cafeteria manager.
Survivors include four sons, Leland LaDue and his wife Marjorie of Chazy, James LaDue Jr. and his wife Giselle of Port Orange, Fla., Orville LaDue and his wife Gretchen of Mooers, and Terry LaDue of Sparks, Nev.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; husband; brother and sister-in-law; sister and brother-in-law; a grandson; and 2 great-grandsons.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Burial will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery.
