Hendrijke "Henny" Visscher

---- — PLATTSBURGH — Hendrijke "Henny" Visscher, 95, of Flynn Avenue, passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Holland on Nov. 28, 1917, the daughter of Johanas and Klaasje (VonLeusded) Visscher.

Henny became qualified in teaching swimming in Holland. She then moved to America in 1963. While here in Plattsburgh, Henny volunteered for over 20 years at the YMCA in Plattsburgh teaching aerobics and swimming. She loved training and took great pride in participating in the Senior Olympic Games where she won many medals.

Survivors include one son, Hans Visscher of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Bram Visscher of Holland and Johanas Visscher of Africa; one granddaughter, Jannemarein Renout of Holland; two close friends, Amy Zukowski of Plattsburgh and Ingrid Clark of Plattsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
