Marilyn Dezan

ELLENBURG CENTER — Marilyn Dezan, 74, of Ellenburg Center, passed away Nov. 16, 2013, at Fletcher Allen in Burlington, Vt. She was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Newport, N.H., the daughter of Raymond and Virginia (Feathers) Dezan. She married Joseph Dezan on May 28, 1960. They spent 39 years together before his passing in 1999.

Marilyn loved quilting and quilted for the Altona quilting club and home beau. She was also a very active member of the Wesleyan Church in Ellenburg Depot.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy and Deb Gilbert, David and Mellissa Gilbert, Joseph and Theresa Dezan, Jon and Penny Dezan, Jonah and Brenda Dezan, Scott and Rosa Benoit, Jeremiah Dezan, Rick LaDuke; a daughter, Linda and Garry Bombard; a son, Jason and Michelle Dezan, Jesse Dezan; daughters, Josette Dezan and Jamie Dezan; her grandchildren, Shannon, Adrenne, Chris, Daniel, Michelle, Alex, Bryttny, Seth, Lacy, Syerra, Kandyss, Luke, Cassidy, Troy, Kristy, John Curtis, Jimmyle, Sandy, Leeann, Shantell, Amber, Chelsey, Joey, Britany, Christina, Katie, Ashley, Travis, Ryan, Amy, Jerry Jr., Tear, Nathan, Ethan, Courtney, Alex, and Thomas; 27 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Anthony Shute, Phillip Shute, David Shute and Danny Shute. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Dezan; her parents, Raymond and Virginia Dezan; her sister, Kathleen Kendell; a son, James Robert Dezan; and three grandchildren, Lyndsy, Gabryelle, and Dillon.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Ross Funeral Home in Ellenburg Depot. A funeral service will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Wesleyan Church in Ellenburg Depot, followed by entombment at Whispering Maples.
