CHAZY — Veronica E. Rushford, 91, of River Street, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born in Dannemora, N.Y., on May 31, 1922, the daughter of James and Della (Manor) Guynup, Sr.
Veronica married Carlton Rushford in 1955 at St. James Church in Cadyville. Carlton passed away in 2004.
She worked as a machine operator at Bearst, Forest & Dixfield Paper Mill, then Diamond National, Vanity Fair, and eventually retiring in 1985 from Imperial Paper Mill in Plattsburgh.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, and a former member of the Altar Rosary Society.
Survivors include, one son, Roger Rushford of Chazy, N.Y.; three daughters, Kathleen Rushford of West Chazy, Jane Rushford of Plattsburgh, and Anna Bushey and her husband Brent of Saranac; four grandchildren, Michelle Rushford, Samantha Belrose, and Amanda and Kasha Bushey; and several nieces and nephews.
Veronica was predeceased by three brothers, Carl, James an Kenneth Guynup; and four sisters, Dorothy Lucia, Marie Garrant, Hilda Facteau, and Evangeline Hayes Brown.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m on Thursday, Nov. 21. in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
