AU SABLE FORKS — Louis A. Fournier Sr., 73, passed away at his home in the presence of his family on Nov. 17, 2013. Louie was born Sept. 17, 1940, to the late Wilfred and Jennie (LaFountain) Fournier of Peasleeville.
Louie was survived by his wife Sally (Nelson) Fournier of 53 years; and five children, Martha and Butch Hendrie of Plattsburgh, Joann and John Ryan II of Au Sable Forks, Beverly and Jim Seguin of Au Sable Forks, Louis and Sally Fournier Jr. of Au Sable Forks, Michael and Carla Fournier of Saranac; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; a brother and sister in-law, Walter and Linda (Nelson) Fournier; two sisters, Lena Rondeau and Maude Coon; Brother in-law, Samual Coon and sister in-law Marge Nelson.
Louie along side his two sons Luke and Mike as loggers for 11 years he also worked for the Town of Black Brook Highway Department, WhiteFace Mountain, Rogers Paper Mill and caretaker at Taylor Pond Camp Ground.
Louie enjoyed spending time with his family also hunting, fishing, camping, music, farming and most of all teaching. Louie enjoyed doing all these things with his wife and many family members of his family.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Thwaits- Zaumetzer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook. Burial will follow in the parish Cemetery.
