PLATTSBURGH — Michael J. LaFountain, 60, of Bushey Boulevard, Plattsburgh, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born Oct. 4, 1953, in Plattsburgh, the son of Oswald and Helen (Rousaw) LaFountain.
In Michael's younger years, he cut and steamed cedar with his father and did maintenance at Garden City Trailer Court for Vernon Whittington from 1975 to 1988. He enjoyed scratch off tickets, old country and bluegrass music. His greatest gift was love and compassion for his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; his siblings, Lowell, Larry, Sonny, Lawrence, Lucy, Mae Ann, Edith, Bonnie and Madlin.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Jessica LaFountain; his grandchildren, Ayden Quinn and Liam Spencer Bell; his special nieces, Beverly and Betty Agnew; his siblings, Florence Lavene, Gary LaFountain, Mary LaFountain and Lillian LaFountain.
Calling hours will held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
