---- — LEWIS — Kathryn F. Pulsifer, 84, died Wednesday May 15, 2013 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital with her friend and family at her side. She was born August 4, 1928 in Jay, N.Y., the daughter of Morse and Helen (McDonald) Coolidge.
She grew up in the Glen and graduated from Ausable High School. On Dec. 11, 1949 she married her husband of 63 years, Philip Pulsifer, in the Elizabethtown Congregational Church. Kathryn loved to be in the woods with her husband Phil and they often hunted black bear. In her teenage years she also enjoyed berry picking with her cousin Hilda (Benway) Hathaway. Kathryn never missed a high school sports game of her son or her grandchildren. She was instrumental in church dinners in the old parish hall in her early years, and was a Sunday school teacher for the church.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Pulsifer of Lewis; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Deborah Pulsifer of Lewis; a granddaughter and her husband, Kendra and Marcus Griep of Billerica Mass.; a grandson, Colby Pulsifer and his partner, Aubrey Peryea of Lewis; one great-grandchild, Sebastian Griep; a sister, Nina Williams of Jay; three brothers and their wives, Morris and Mary Coolidge of Wilmington, Lawrence and Gale Coolidge of Ariz., Ronnie and Pat Coolidge of Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Jean Coolidge of Keene Valley; In-laws, Annabelle Trombley, Isabelle Feltt, Frank and Midred Pulsifer all of Fla.; and 28 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Ardell Coolidge; two brothers, Donald and John Coolidge; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Tommy and Anna Brown.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday, May 17, at W.M.Marvins Sons funeral home in Elizabethtown. A funeral will be officiated by Rev. Fred Shaw at 11 A.M. Saturday at the Lewis Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
