MOOERS FORKS — Shirley A. Baker, 64, of the Blackman Corners Road, Mooers Forks, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on July 5, 1948, the daughter of Herbert and Ethel (Castine) Earl. She grew up in Champlain and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Champlain.
Shirley worked for various companies throughout her life including, Bariatrix and F.W. Meyers in Champlain, and Consolidated Apparel in Rouses Point.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and doing word searches, but her true love was spending time with her family and many animals, including her three dogs, Daisy, Jackie, and Ginger.
Survivors include her loving husband, Gerald F. Baker, whom she married on May 23, 1992; daughter Sarah Baker and her fiance, Kyle Deneault of Mooers Forks; and brother James Earl.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two aunts and two uncles.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Glenwood Cemetery in Champlain.
