POTTERSVILLE — Tuesday evening at Glens Falls Hospital, God called home David E. Whitty. David went to heaven to live among the angels and mow the green pastures of heaven.
Over the years David or "Dave", as most people knew him, was known for his quiet, caring, soft spoken, funny sense of humor and his ability to fix anything. People from all over would come to him with their lawn mowers, weed wackers, snowmobiles, wood splitters, chain saws and snow blowers. 1,000's of yards were kept beautiful and many driveways were kept plowed through years of Adirondack snow storms because of his amazing skills at fixing anything and his ability to help a man pick the right equipment to get the job done. Dave was born on Jan. 21, 1932, in Schroon Lake. Dave is now in heaven enjoying his time with those who went before him. His wife of 40 years, Kathleen Armstrong Whitty; his mother and father, Bessie Palmer Whitty Provoncha and Julius Whitty Sr.; and his brother Julius Whitty Jr.
His family will miss his warm smile, gentle manner, and wonderful sense of humor.
Dave is survived by his brothers, Raymond and Joan Whitty, Donald and Mary Jane Whitty of Schroon Lake, and Robert and Sandra Whitty of Hillsboro, Tenn.; his present wife of nearly nine years, Patricia Cleveland Whitty of Pottersville; his children, John David and Suzanne Whitty of Panama City Beach, Fla., David Michael and Tracy Whitty of Schroon Lake, and Susan Whitty Myers of Schroon Lake. His step-children John and Becky Cleveland of Glens Falls, Samantha and Danny McKee of Glens Falls. His grand-children, Kimberly, Dawn, Ashley, Melinda Sue, Melissa Kay, Kenneth and Ryan. Several great grand-children; and many nieces and nephews.
