— PLATTSBURGH - Carlton Dennis Burnell, of the Wallace Hill Road, Plattsburgh, died peacefully at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home on August 26, 2013, at the age of 78. Born June 8, 1935 in Plattsburgh the son of the late Philbert and Merilda (Bushey) Burnell, he attended school at Mount Assumption Institute.

Carl sold Mobile Homes for over 40 years, owned a grocery store, and built houses all in the Plattsburgh area.

Carl is survive by three children, Penny & Greg McKay of Henderson, Nev., Dean and Holly Burnell of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Dennis and Bonnie Burnell of Plattsburgh; his siblings, Wendell and Nancy Burnell of Plattsburgh, Glory and Greg Morley of Plattsburgh and Joyce McLean of N.C.; five grandchildren, Danielle, Denise, Deanna, Dean and Daniel; eight great-grandchildren Codie, Nicholas, Patrick, Grace, Mary, Elsa, Kristion and Cameron; several nieces, nephews and his extended family at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home also survive him.

At Carl's request there will be no public calling or services. Donations in his memory may be made to the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home Activities Fund.
