SYRACUSE — Calvin Frances DeCoste, 56, of Syracuse, N.Y., died in Cleveland, Ohio on Monday, Aug. 12.
Born July 6, 1957, the son of Raymond and Ethel (Keegan) DeCoste, he had lots of fun growing up in Ellenburg Depot where he graduated in 1975 from Northern Adirondack Central School. After travelling with a band for a couple of years, he settled down in Syracuse where he worked most of his life as a master plumber and electrician for Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital and the Syracuse school system.
Calvin is survived by his son, Shawn David DeCoste of Syracuse; and five sisters, Christine Hubbell of Marrietta, Ga, Cathy DeCoste of Rochester, N.Y., Conney Rowe of Walled Lake, Mich., Carolyn Kingsley of Lewiston, Idaho, and Carla O'Reilly of Ellenburg, N.Y. He was predeceased by the family's foster mother, Katherine (Kay) Blow; his parents, Raymond and Ethel; and his brother, Curtis.
There will be an informal service at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, at Lake Roxanne on the Lake Roxanne Road with a reception following at Matthews Motel Room #5 on Route 11 in Ellenburg.
