STAFFORD, VA. — Janette J. Duegaw, 81, of Stafford, Va., died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at the Stafford Hospital with her husband and family by her side.
Janette was born in Hartford, N.Y., on April 7, 1932, the first child of Oscar and Louise MacDonald.
She grew up in Saranac, N.Y., after her father became a Corrections Officer at Clinton Prison in Dannemora. She attended Saranac Elementary School and graduated from Dannemora High School in 1949. She was employed by the Clinton County Welfare Department in Plattsburgh, N.Y., for several years until her marriage.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack Duegaw; son David Duegaw (Dawn); daughters, Robin Keller (Howard) and Nancy Kulik; siblings Patricia Eggleston, Robert MacDonald (Monica), and Sally Scarborough; grandchildren, Zoey, Peige and Zayn Keller, Arianne DeSiero, Griffin, Ryan, and John Duegaw; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. She was a wonderful wife and friend to Jack, a great Mom to her children, and the best Nana her grandchildren could ever have had.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Louise; and son Michael.
Services and burial will be held in Saranac, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to any no-kill animal shelter or animal rescue activity of your choice.
