VENICE, FLA. — Mary Lou Moore of Venice, Fla., formally of Westport, N.Y., and Margaretville, N.Y., passed away peacefully Nov. 13, 2013, at her home. She was born in Margaretville, March 8, 1939, to the late George Decker and Helen (Halcott) Decker. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Moore of Venice; son, William (Kristen) Moore of Lake Placid, N.Y.; daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Kucera of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Sean, Chelsea, Kalina and Cecilia. She is further survived by brothers, William York of Prescott, Mich., Robert (Rosie) Decker of Palm Bay, Fla.; sisters, Betty Little of Andes, N.Y., Irene Decker of Margaretville, Marie Mead of Schenectady, N.Y., Beverly Banks of Delhi, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Patrick Moore of Ogdensburg, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Margaret Moore of Paramus, N.J., Jeanette Moore of Galway, Ireland, MaryJane (Jerome) Rigoroso of Yonkers, N.Y., Clorinda Moore of Wadhams, N.Y., and Hildegard Moore of Elizabethtown, N.Y.
She is predeceased by her sister, Shirley Mead; and brother- in-law, Denis Moore of Wadhams, N.Y.
Mary Lou was a loving wife and cherished her time with family, especially time with her grandchildren. She had the best of all worlds, enjoying time in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains of New York in the summer and fall, and then heading South to Venice, Fla., in the winters! She loved entertaining friends and family in both places, and was an excellent host and fabulous cook.
There are no calling hours at this time, a memorial service will be held in Westport in the Spring 2014.
