PLATTSBURGH — Cheryl Darlene Dame, 63, of Plattsburgh, died peacefully in her sleep April 12, 2013, after a long battle with Cirrhosis. Cheryl is the daughter of Donald and Mildred Dame of Plattsburgh.
Cheryl was born in April 20, 1949, in Altona, N.Y. A lifelong resident of Plattsburgh, she is best known for her work as a daycare provider, caring for hundreds of area children, working primarily for the county daycare program. She was a member of the board for Plattsburgh Housing Authority and actively involved with local politics. Cheryl was a special friend to many and loved by all. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Mildred Dame. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Dame Beeching and her husband Jeffery of Peru; her son Stanley Lamoy and his wife Krista of Charlotte N.C.; her daughter Tia Dame and companion Bill Grey of Plattsburgh; her sisters Donna Hock and Sonia Dame of Plattsburgh, Celeste Parker and husband Harold of Morrisonville, Christine Dame and Ernestine Edwards, Robin Graham and Dana Lafountain both of Plattsburgh; her brother John Dame, and wife Janet of Schuyler Falls; her granddaughters Hannah Beeching of Peru, Bethany Lamoy of Charlotte, N.C.; and grandson Cooper Dame of Plattsburgh; as well as many nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 14, at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
