---- — PERU — Ronald H. Doty, 72, of the John Boswell Road, Peru, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.

He was born in Plattsburgh, March 28, 1940, the son of Henry and Marjorie (Green) Doty.

Ronnie married his high school sweetheart, Patricia A. Hare, a loving marriage that has spanned 52 years. They were married Sept. 11, 1960, at their home in Plattsburgh.

Ronnie was employed at many locations throughout the North Country. He worked for George Parker, A. Mason and Sons, Clark's Auto Body, Peru Central School, Bill's Body Shop, and Forrence Orchards. His love of working on and watching race cars inspired him to own and operate the Country Auto Body Shop in Peru for many years.

Ronnie was a member of the Trail Finders Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family and friends, and loved his loyal canine companion, Fluffy.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his two daughters, Kimberley A. Doty-Ashline and Brenda L. Doty-Phillips and husband Edward; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; mother, Marge Doty; brother, Clyde Doty Sr. and wife June; mother-in-law, Marion Hare; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Rabideau and husband Giles, and Shirley Blake; special family friends, Carl Ashline Jr. and Jesse Read; several nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father; and twin brother, Roland Doty.

There will be no public calling hours or services. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A gathering will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at 16 John Boswell Road, Peru.

Donations in his memory may be made to his family to be used at their discretion.
