AUSABLE FORKS — Ryan F. Slater, 23, of Church Lane, AuSable Forks, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in AuSable Forks. He was born in Meriden, Conn., April 26, 1989, the son of William and Dorothy (Hils) Slater.
He graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in 2007 and attended Clinton Community College.
Ryan owned and operated Green Dog Landscaping and Design.
Anyone who knew Ryan was familiar with his infectious smile. He was a loyal and loving son, brother and friend. Ryan was inseparable from his dog, Knea. He enjoyed playing soccer and basketball and loved spending time with his sisters. He also enjoyed fishing with his best friend, Greg Tayor, and hitting the slopes snowboarding with Jeremy. Ryan was currently registered and training to compete in the 2013 Ironman.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Dorothy E. Changelo and Stacy; father, William Slater; sisters, Morgan Changelo and Krystal Alloggio and her husband Russell, and their children, Payton and Madison Alloggio; grandmother, Eugenia Wyman; stepgrandparents, Nancy and Wayne McLean; stepuncle, Ryan McLean; aunts and uncles, Mary Varriccio, Kerry Hils, Stephen Hils, Chris Hils, and Robert and Gail Slater; numerous cousins; and his beloved dog, Knea.
Calling hours will be held from Noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Upper Jay.
