TICONDEROGA — Josephine DeLong, 82, of Ticonderoga, died suddenly, on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at her residence.
Born in Ticonderoga, Sept, 5, 1931, the daughter of the late Henry and Eva Marie (Harpp) Tucker.
Mrs. DeLong was a lifelong Crown Point and Ticonderoga resident. She was a graduate of Crown Point High School. In 1991, she moved to Ticonderoga with her husband, Carl DeLong.
Mrs. DeLong took great pride in baking cookies and cakes for her family and many friends. She looked forward to coffee clutch meeting with her friends. She enjoyed both, flower and vegetable gardening. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and took an active role in their lives.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Carl DeLong on Feb. 20, 2002. Survivors include her two sons, Michael C. DeLong and his wife, Vicki of Ticonderoga, and Joseph H. DeLong of Plattsburgh; one sister, Etta Carter of West Coxsackie; and two grandchildren, Sandy DeLong and his wife, Paula and Christopher DeLong and his wife, Daniella, both of Ticonderoga; seven great-grandchildren, Margo, Miles, Mya, Lindsey, Adrian, Isaac and Talon.
Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Scott Tyler, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate.
