WESTVILLE — Donald W. Moore, 80, of the Bruso Rd., Westville, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone.
Born on Aug. 16, 1933 in Malone, N.Y., he was the son of Garfield and Gladys (Brooks) Moore.
He was married to Frances M. Jefferson on May 22, 1954 at St. Alexander's Church, Morrisonville, N.Y.
Mr. Moore graduated from Franklin Academy with the Class of 1950. He owned and operated his own dairy farm on Route 11 for many years. He was a member of Farm Bureau and enjoyed family, traveling and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Daniel Beedy of Constable; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Mary Moore of Malone, Barry and Terry Moore of Clarkston, Mich.; grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa (Brian) Mitchell, Adam (Sarah) Moore, Dylan Moore, Bayron Moore; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Ashley Mitchell; a sister, Arlene Tarbell of Franklin, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Alice Moore of Malone; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Alton in 2012, Clorith in 1952 and Leonard in infancy.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 23 at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 24, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Thomas Higman officiating. Burial will take place at Morningside Cemetery.
