Emy was a tremendous chef, running kitchens in several establishments, notably Mark's Cayenne Grill and most recently, the Westport Country Club. She had quite a following. Melinda was so modest, she would say "I'm just a cook" yet she would compare favorably to many a chef.
Melinda had a big heart. She was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need, listen to someone's problems or donate to charitable causes....even if it was her last dollar. In short she was a sweetheart.
Emy loved her music and she was a big fan of all types, especially jam bands. She enjoyed shopping with her sister Beth. Melinda also faithfully called her mom each night to talk about her day.
Golf was her favorite sport to play. Melinda became more proficient under her fianc^ Mark's teaching and had several birdies. Her etiquette was impeccable and she was a pleasure to play with. Mark adored Melinda and was always so proud of her.
Melinda was a lover of all living things. She really enjoyed gardening, especially growing varieties of hot peppers. She loved to grow and eat her own fresh vegetables. Emy had dozens of pets through the years, from her beloved cats, Lilly and Dusty Rose to her Chihuahua named Carley. Melinda loved to go hiking and camping with a big fire.
