---- — ARGYLE — Roger Pierce, 62, of Argyle, passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 13, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born Nov. 22, 1950 in Elizabethtown, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth (Brant) Pierce and the late LeRoy Edwin Pierce.

Roger was very proud to be an Eagle Scout. He graduated in the class of 1970 at Saranac Central. After graduating, Roger served in the United States Army. On July 7, 2006 he retired after 25 years of working at Mt. McGregor Correctional Facility.

On June 21, 1986, Roger married the love of his life Robin Boice at the Methodist Church in Argyle. There was nothing more that Roger loved than his family. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play at their sporting events. His family was his life. Roger loved snowmobiling and was a member of the NSSSA Hartford Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Robin (Boice) Pierce; children, Micheal Boice, Ashleigh Pierce and Bryan Pierce; grandsons, Cody Mallon and Brandon Boice; sisters, Karen Mason and husband Glen, Joyce Ranieri and husband Michael, Linda Ellsworth and husband Barton, Roberta Szczypien and husband John; mother and father-in-law, Lois Boice and Charles; sister-in-law, Kelly Mattice and husband Jerry; brother-in-law, Brook Boice; brother-in-law, Kristopher Boice and wife Sarah; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen McLean, Pastor of the Argyle Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will follow services at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery.
