PLATTSBURGH — Edna M. "Sissy" LeClaire, 79, of Blake Road, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at CVPH Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born July 14, 1934, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Edward and Clara (Blake) Hendrie.
Edna was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed collecting angels, fishing, yard sales, ghost stories, and most of all, Bingo. In her younger years, she was a volunteer for Treadwells Mills Youth Commisson, as well as church Christmas parties for the children. Her door was always open to anyone in need.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 29 years, James N. LeClaire of Plattsburgh; five sons, Butch Hendrie and his wife Martha of Plattsburgh, Jack Hendrie and his companion Tonya of Wiggletown, Anthony Howard and his wife Cindy of West Chazy, Timmy Howard and his wife Tina of Plattsbugh, Terry Provost and companion Sherry of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Minnie Kennedy and her husband Bobby of West Chazy; three stepchildren, Bonnie, Jay, and Paul; two sisters, Arlene Bouvia and Phyllis Roark; grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Kelsey, Travis, Josh, Ashley, Colby, Coty, Checole, Logan, Shiann, Chad, KJ, Shayne, Robert, Derrick, Christina, and Heather; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Leon and Carlton Hendrie; a sister, Merill Mescek; and a grandson, Colby Banker.
At Edna's request, there will be no public calling hours or services. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the H.K. Freedman Renal Center.
