---- — LYON MOUNTAIN — Pearl E. Ashline, 95, of Lyon Mountain, N.Y. died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Center with her family by her side.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1917 in Merrill, N.Y., the daughter of William and Jenny (Davis) LaPoint.

She was a chartered member of the Lyon Mountain Catholic Daughters, a longtime member of the Sorrell-Woodward Post 1623 Auxiliary and a past member of the Merry Lyoniers.

Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne (Ashline) Grogan of Lyon Mountain; her daughter and son-in-law, Joan (Ashline) and Russell Sawyer of Merrill; and her son, Joseph Ashline and wife Fayrene of Lyon Mountain; nine grandchildren, Douglas and Debbie Grogan, Deanna Grogan, Donna Grogan, Timothy and Mary Rounds, Laurie Gokey, Heidi and Robert Ouimet, Russell and Roxanne Sawyer, Alisa and David Langille, Joseph and Cristy Ashline; eighteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pearl is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Merrill of Plattsburgh.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Ashline; parents, William and Jenny LaPoint; three sisters, Geraldine, Lillian and Evelyn; four brothers, Howard, Edward, Bernard and Harry; a son-in-law, Douglas Grogan; grandson Dean Grogan; and great-grandson Ryan Decosse.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at St. Bernard's Parish Center, Lyon Mountain.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17 in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain with Rev. Ted Crosby officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Bernard's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lyon Mountain Fire Dept.

Arrangements are in the care of the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
