---- — PLATTSBURGH — Josephine R. Brusgul, 87, entered into eternal life on the 4th of July, dying tragically in a house fire.

"Jo" was the daughter of the late Francis and Rose Mattarazzo Grassucci, sister to the late Phillip Grassucci and Gloria Gebhardt.

Jo was a retired RN who attended St. Peter's School of Nursing, working at St. Peter's, Ellis, Will Rogers Hospital and Uihlein Nursing Home in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Jo resided in the Adirondacks for 53 years and cherished her many friends. She was very outspoken, generous, caring, a giver especially when animals were involved. She was a N.Y. sports enthusiast especially her N.Y. Yankees.

Jo is survived by her sons, Brian Brusgul (Debbie) of Rotterdam, N.Y., Justin Brusgul (Janet) of Altamont, N.Y.; herdaughters, Christine Moore (Donald) and Kathleen Halbert, all of Florida. Six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces also survive her.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 6:30 in the funeral home chapel.

The family would like to express their thanks to the N.Y. State Police, especially Investigator Karen Dufour and (CVS) Molly Nicholas for their help and communication.
