CHAMPLAIN - George A. Racine died on Christmas day at home with his family by his side.
Born in Lacolle Quebec, the son of Ulric and Blandine [Dennault] Racine.
He owned an operated the Racine Farm on the Hayford Road in Champlain for many years and worked at NCCS for 35 years as a Mechanic and bus driver, George was also a master welder. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved to deer hunt and fish, he had a quick wit and loved to tell jokes.
He is survived by his sister, Irene Tetreault; and two daughters, Jeanne Cassaverde of Rochester, N.Y. and Rita Monette of Champlain.
George was predeceased by his loving wife of 73 years, Gladys Boulerice Racine; brothers Aurthur, Rene, Roland, Alfred, Allure; sisters, Loretta Favreau, Blanche Gerard, Bertha Robinson, Clair Tetreault. Grandchildren Daniel Monnette and his wife Jolene, and their children Ashley and Morgan. Jeanne's husband Juvenial Cassaverde and their children Janet and Pedro Pineda and their children Amaru, Anahi. Ruben and Zoraida Cassaverde their children Alejandro, Samuel, Sofia, Gabriel. Pablo and Nina Cassaverde and children Mayan, Neil, Jose and Kathryn Cassaverde and their children Ian, Brennan.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday Dec. 28, at Ross Funeral Home in Mooers, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the North Country, 358 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 to the Memory of George and Gladys Racine.
