ELLENBURG CENTER — Tammy May Drown, 56, of Ellenburg Center, died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home in Pittsfield, Mass. after a long illness.
She was born on June 17, 1958, in Potsdam, N.Y., to L. Frank and Meredith M. (Boyea) Drown.
Tammy was a caring, gentle, loving soul. In her younger years, she was extremely active in the Special Olympics, with bowling as her favorite, and was proud of the many trophies she had received. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, playing cards and games. She also enjoyed a good game of poker with adults, and when she placed her bet, they knew she wasn't bluffing. You could often find Tammy with a circle word or word search book in her hand, if she wasn't watching her favorite TV Land shows. She had the pleasure of traveling and spending many winters in Florida with her parents.
Tammy was an inspiration to all of her family for overcoming the obstacles she was presented with in her life. She was always positive, happy and very strong minded. Tammy could remember things from years back that most of us would forget in a day. Her amazing spirit will be greatly missed by all that knew her, especially her family.
Tammy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank L. and Lori A. Drown of Ellenburg Center; and her sister and brother-in-law, Ann E. and Todd A. Meier of Mishawaka, Ind.; her nieces, Kristin R., and her husband Steven P. Bartlemus of Ellenburg Depot; Megan A. Meier of Mishawaka, Ind.; Bethany E. Drown and her fianc^ Bryant P. Fortin of Ellenburg Center; her nephews, Patrick F. Drown of Ellenburg Center and Brandon F. Meier of Mishawaka, Ind.; and her great nephew, Hayden P. Brunet of Ellenburg Depot.
