LYON MOUNTAIN — Kenneth J. "Moose" Gregory, 76, of State Route 374, Lyon Mountain, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh. Born July 3, 1938, in Plattsburgh, he was the son of Harold and Ina (Revor) Gregory. They predeceased him.
Mr. Gregory graduated from Lyon Mountain High School. In his early years, he was employed at the missile site and Eisenhower Locks at the St. Lawrence Seaway. He later owned and operated Greg's Tavern in Lyon Mountain for over 30 years, which is now the Lyon Mountain Museum. He sponsored the Lyon Mountain Miner's baseball team and little league baseball. He was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain.
Mr. Gregory is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Sharon Gregory of Ballston Lake; two nieces, Nikki Parks of Rotterdam and Keri McGuire of Fort Myers, Fla.; a grandnephew, Josh McIntosh; and grandniece, Autumn Parks.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, at St. Bernard's Parish Center, Lyon Mountain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, in St. Bernard's Church, with Rev. Ted Crosby officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
