KEESEVILLE/AU SABLE FORKS — David A. "Dave" Smith, 49, went to be with our heavenly Lord on June 12, 2014.
He was born in Keene Valley on Aug. 16, 1964, to the late James R. Smith Sr. and Theresa A. (Irwin) Smith.
He was a soul taken too early in life. A great man, son, friend, brother, fianc^, stepfather and uncle. Dave loved to fool around with cars as he was always working on them. He loved going for rides with his beloved Sadie May. He loved all of his animals, Sadie May Bandit, Smokey and Lucky. On Sunday's, he would be watching Nascar and his favorite driver Jimmy Johnson. He was well known to many and will be sorely missed by all. So often you would hear him talking about memories of his mom and dad. He was so headstrong, if he said he was going to do something, he did. When he smiled, everyone smiled. He love to take his stepchildren for ice cream and to Mcdonald's. So often you would see him at Clare and Carl's, sitting in the car. He never forgot to order extra for Sadie May. He also liked Wednesday's and Saturday night Bingo in Plattsburgh. He loved going bike riding with kids and watching them play ball. His favorite song was Brad Paisley's "Alcohol". He would turn it up loud and sing it whenever it came on. He love being at the pole yard with Donnie Sullivan.
He is survived by his fiance^/companion of many years, Christine Lewis, whom will always love him and will live his name on; his three beloved stepchildren, Rebecca, Sarah and Jason, whom he always wanted the best in life for; Christine's parents, Clifford Sr. and Patricia Lewis; a sister, Sandra Blaise; and brothers James R. Smith Jr., Roger Smith, John Smith; and his loving nieces and nephews Deanna, Treena, Mike and Tom; and many other cousins, family and friends. David was predeceased by his parents, James and Theresa (Irwin) Smith; and by his brothers, Mikey and Steve Smith. We know dear Dave you were met at the gates by beloved love in your past. You are with them now watching over all of us. My angel you are, please rest in peace and wait for me my love.
