Joshua I. Ormsby

October 31, 1987 - June 6, 2014

Peru — Joshua I. Ormsby, 26, of Peru, left us tragically, Friday, June 6, 2014, from the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh, Oct. 31, 1987, the son of Jacqueline (LaMoy) Coon and Joseph Ormsby, Sr. Josh attended Peru Central School. He was a hard and dedicated worker with his family's business, Ormsby Trucking Co.

In Josh's world, family was sacred. He was very close with, and very protective of all those he loved in every facet of his life. As a son, father, brother, grandson, cousin, godfather, and friend, he revered every moment and experience creating long lasting memories that will forever live on. He never missed an opportunity to tell his family and friends he loved them, and how much they meant to him. His contagious laughter, his affinity for life and adventure, and his love for his family will always be remembered, for what was the essence of Josh. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten.

Survivors include his beloved one year old son, Jace Ormsby; fiance, Liz Mahan; mother, Jacqueline Coon; father, Joseph Ormsby, Sr.; his brother whom he was extremely close to, Joseph S. Ormsby, Jr.; half sister, Kelsey Ormsby; step-sister, Kelly Bell; step-brother, Jeffrey Coon; maternal grandparents, Grace and Leeward LaMoy; paternal grandparents, Gladys and Raymond Ormsby; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all who cherished his smile and reveled in his love and zest for life.

Calling hours will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru.

Donations in his memory may be made to an education fund to be established in his son's name. Contributions may be made to the Jace Ormsby Education Fund.
